Tercentenary 2009 Killeheen Wesleyan Chapel Stone Unveiled
In September 2009 the Irish Palatines Association held a 10-day event to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the Palatines in Ireland. As part of the programme a special stone was unveiled to mark the site of the Killeheen Wesleyan Chapel and act as a permanent reminder of the tercentenary. This DVD is a recording of that event.

We first met Reinig, Braun and Böhn when visiting Assenheim in May 2009 attending a celebration hosted by the town to mark the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the Palatines in Ireland (IPA Journal 17). The group have a large repertoire of tradtional Palatine music. Our reason for choosing this CD from their collection is that it includes a wonderful contemporary version of the Irish ballad "The Palatines Daughter". It also includes a beautiful intrumental piece "Die Uberfahrt" used as a musical accompaniment to Monika Schoenbucher's award winning monologue "Dorothea Switzer" .

The Jager family were first introduced to the Irish Palatine Association when they performed for participants of the 1994 IPA Tour of the Palatinate. Since then they have visited Ireland and performed in Rathkeale for the local community.
The Jagers, a family consisting of three generations, are a well-known folk group in the Palatinate area in Germany. They are renowned for having gathered a large repertoire of traditional Palatine folk songs. As well as performing all over the Palatinate they have appeared on both German television and radio.
